1. Who we are

This website is operated by the Scrabble Association of India (SAI), the organising body for the All India School Scrabble Championship 2026 (AISSC 2026). You can reach us at indianscrabble@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Registrations for AISSC 2026 are handled through an external Google Form. The data SAI collects through that form includes:

• Student full name, class/grade, date of birth and school name
• Preferred regional-round city
• Parent or guardian name, email and mobile
• Optional: prior Scrabble experience and how the family heard about us
• Explicit consent for participation and for photo/media use

The website itself does not run any forms or store data on this server. Sponsorship, contact and "Forward to my school" actions on this site open your email client to send a message to indianscrabble@gmail.com.

3. Children's data — a special note

AISSC 2026 is a championship for students in Classes 5–8 (ages 9–13). Registration data therefore relates to minors, and we treat it with extra care:

• Data is collected via the parent or guardian, not the child.
• An explicit consent checkbox is required at registration.
• A separate, explicit photo/media consent covers the National Finals livestream and event photography. You can opt out, or withdraw consent later, at any time.
• Access to registration data is restricted to SAI organisers and the relevant city coordinators only.

4. How we use the data

We use the information solely to organise the championship:

• To communicate venue, timing and event-day details to parents
• To pair players for tournaments and issue certificates
• To share results, photos and post-event coverage (only with consent)
• For aggregated reporting (e.g., number of students, cities reached) in SAI's impact reports

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

5. Storage and security

Registration entries are stored within SAI's authorised systems (Google Workspace) with access limited to SAI organisers and city coordinators. Submissions can be exported to a spreadsheet (CSV/Excel) for tournament administration.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you or your child
• Correct any information that is inaccurate
• Withdraw consent for photo/media use
• Request deletion of your data after the championship concludes

7. Alignment with the DPDP Act

This policy is designed to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — particularly its provisions on the processing of children's personal data, parental consent and data fiduciary obligations.

8. Cookies and analytics

This static website does not set tracking cookies. If basic analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) are added later to measure overall traffic, this policy will be updated to disclose what is collected.

9. Third-party services

Some links on this site point to external services we use to operate the championship:

• Google Forms — for registration submissions
• api.qrserver.com — to render QR codes for the registration form
• YouTube — for livestreaming the National Finals
• Google Fonts — for typeface delivery

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We have no control over their practices but use them only as required to deliver the championship.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
